RELEASE|September 18, 2026
Contact: Cam Cavitt

State Rep. Cam Cavitt today praised the approval of nearly $7 million in funding for communities across the state that have been affected by recent disasters.

“This is a major win for the people of Northern Michigan,” said Cavitt (R-Cheboygan). “The damage we received from the winter storms was devastating. Thousands were left without power, infrastructure was severely damaged, and the build-up of snow contributed to horrific flooding. We still need resources to rebuild. I worked alongside local leaders, residents, and communities across Northern Michigan to make sure state officials understood the depth of this need.”

To support recovery efforts, $709,225 will be distributed to Alcona, Alpena, Delta, Missaukee, Ogemaw, Roscommon, and Wexford counties.

“This funding is an important step in our recovery process,” Cavitt said. “With this aid, our northern counties will be able to rebuild as necessary without a heavy financial burden.”
